Balfour Beatty has been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage – a key step in making Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
What you’ll be doing
* Develop and manage relationships with clients to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.
* Traffic management in the warehouse and lay‑down area.
* Implement PVPI measures within warehouse and lay‑down area.
* Obtain supplier quotations and complete material requisitions for purchasing.
* Compile delivery dockets and complete GRNs (Goods Received Notes).
* Manage purchase of equipment & plant required for the warehouse.
* Assist with the site Plant and Tool Register.
* Liaise with internal departments, subcontractors and client teams.
* Assist with onboarding and start‑up procedures for new employees at both head office and sites.
* Provide ad‑hoc assistance to all aspects of running an efficient and productive project.
Who we’re looking for
* Proactive with a positive attitude.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, flexibility and drive to finish key activities through to completion.
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications.
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* In‑depth knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and functions, including formulas.
* Good technical writing capability.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Good understanding of ISO 9001 standards.
* Ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers.
* Ability to work closely with construction teams, preparing documentation and managing change.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to seeing projects through to completion.
* Ability to deliver reports orally and in writing in an objective and persuasive manner.
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others, including senior management.
* Self‑starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function.
* Enquiring and questioning approach to audit work.
* Ability to obtain required security clearances, if needed.
* High levels of integrity.
* Dedication to constantly meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
