Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. You can make a difference.
We need someone adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, providing support to other workstreams as needed.
2. Provide technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Drive reforms in waste management to change how waste is managed in England, working with like-minded individuals towards common goals. This may include shaping digital systems for waste management or policy development.
Our team is dispersed, working with various technical and project teams nationwide. We utilize smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads the reform of Waste Regulations to ensure the government’s ambitions for resource conservation and waste minimization are achieved.

Experience and Skills Required

The role is flexible/hybrid with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
