We're looking for a Health Safety & Wellbeing Trainer to join our Construction team.
Location: Solihull (Nationwide coverage)
Contract: Permanent – Full Time
Responsibilities
Initially the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Trainer will be primarily responsible for the development and delivery of our Site Managers Safety Masterclass across our projects, offices and depots nationwide. This is a course that is aimed front line supervisors and managers in operational roles with the aim of:
* Increasing knowledge of the Kier Culture and values and understanding the impact delegates can have on them.
* Empowering delegates to enable them to stop work if they feel there are unsafe of poor-quality practices.
* Raising awareness of the expectations of supervisors and managers in relation to site-based initiatives.
In addition, there will be a responsibility to deliver a variety of courses on an exception basis such as accident investigation, risk management, behavioural safety amongst others.
The role will report directly into the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and will have the flexibility for the successful candidate to manage their own diary to ensure the successful delivery of the health, safety and wellbeing training programme.
Who are we looking for?
To be considered for the role, we're looking for applicants with the following skills and attributes:
* A minimum of NEBOSH Construction Certificate but ideally with a diploma or NVQ5 level qualification in occupational health and safety practice.
* Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) to a minimum of Technical Level (TechIOSH) ideally working towards Certified (CertIOSH) status.
* Strong knowledge and experience of construction related health, safety and wellbeing practices.
* Experienced in developing and delivering courses both face to face and remotely (or willing to deliver via this method).
* Experienced in behavioural safety techniques with an in-depth knowledge of their relationship with general health, safety and wellbeing practices.
* Ability to drive and stay away from home as required.
* Good time and workload management.
