The role covers the related activities of Software Engineering Management (SWEM) and Software Work Package Management (SWPM).

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Ensure relevant department/product/project management plans are up to date and governance is applied for products/projects
* Ensure development is performed in accordance with these plans
* Liaise with Project Customers as required
* Plan, coordinate and monitor the performance of the work, identify and manage risks across the Work Package lifecycle until closure
* Capture and monitor lifecycle metrics and implement continuous improvement plans
* Review Engineering Forward Load with SWEM and Head of SW Delivery
* Contribute to bid activities regarding estimates, project scheduling and bid gate inputs
* Develop professional knowledge in software, engineering and management; pursue training and mentoring opportunities
* Encourage innovation and the use of new technologies and techniques
* Provide support to less experienced team members and lead by example within the Thales Leadership model
Experience
Essential
* Experience in engineering project delivery and processes across the full project lifecycle with cognisance of commercial impacts
* Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices
* Experience of configuration control and change management
* Experience of requirements management, software design and development
* Experience of integration and verification activities
* Experience of risk management
* Experience of bid management and estimation techniques
* Good understanding of current trends in software engineering and related technologies
* Experience with standard software engineering toolsets
Beneficial
* 5+ years of experience in a SW Delivery role with management of deliveries from multiple integrated SW Development and Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification teams
* Experience of managing multi-million pound software Work Packages
* Experience of multi-site/multi-country development within a complex stakeholder environment
* Experience in SW subcontract management
* Experience with toolsets such as Atlassian Jira and Windchill PLM
Qualifications
* Degree-qualified or equivalent
