Housing Options and Advice Officer

Essential Requirements: Candidates must have sound knowledge and experience in homelessness assessments, including:
* Housing Act 1996
* Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
* Homelessness Code of Guidance
* Safeguarding and risk management
* Equality Act 2010: Public sector equality duty
* Domestic Abuse Bill 2021
Effective communication skills are essential for working with customers, landlords, accommodation providers, and partner organizations to achieve successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
* Interviewing and assessing homeless individuals
* Preventing homelessness through housing options advice
* Determining statutory duties under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996
* Participating in a duty rota system with other Housing Options Officers
* Managing caseloads within HRA constraints
* Utilizing and updating HOPE/Orchard housing management systems
