About The Role
Night Porter, Hotel du Vin
Rate of Pay / Hours: 20 hours, £12.67
Type of Contract: Permanent
Location: Cambridge
The Night Porter oversees the running of the hotel from sundown to sunrise. This is a hands-on role managing guest expectations and maintaining brand standards. During the night, you will oversee the Food & Beverage Department, welcome guests in a friendly and helpful manner, keep public areas immaculate, and prepare meeting and event spaces for the next day. You will assist guests with luggage, handle inquiries, and carry out nightly Health and Safety audits. You should be organized and an excellent communicator.
Experience: Experience in a similar role is beneficial and experience of night shift work is essential.
We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year and can offer flexible shift patterns. Interviews will discuss contracted hours and shifts. We offer career training, including nationally recognized apprenticeships, alongside brand training to enhance guest experiences. Successful candidates can progress to Night Supervisory or Assistant Night Management roles.
Responsibilities
* Oversee hotel operations during night hours and ensure guest service standards are met.
* Manage the Night/Facilities responsibilities for the Food & Beverage Department during the night.
* Welcome guests, assist with luggage, and respond to inquiries.
* Keep public areas clean and prepare meeting and event spaces for the next day.
* Conduct nightly Health and Safety audits and ensure safety compliance.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role is beneficial.
* Experience of night shift work is essential.
* Flexible with shift patterns; able to work evenings and weekends.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
