Job Purpose
* To support the MASH Team Manager in leading a high-performing Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. The postholder will ensure timely and effective decision-making on safeguarding referrals, working collaboratively with partner agencies to protect children and young people. This role is critical in managing risk at the front door of children’s services and ensuring that thresholds for intervention are applied consistently and appropriately.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision of MASH social workers and support staff.
* Oversee the triage and screening of referrals, ensuring timely and proportionate responses to safeguarding concerns.
* Liaise with partner agencies (e.g., police, health, education) to gather and analyse multi-agency information.
* Ensure that decisions are made in line with statutory thresholds and safeguarding procedures.
Essential Experience Required
* Experience of working in a MASH service is essential.
* Demonstrable experience in managing or supervising social work staff.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.
Essential Qualification Required
* Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
Additional information to note
* Working hours: 37 hours per week
* Enhanced DBS is required.
* A non-negotiable requirement is office presence for a minimum of three days a week.
