Proclinical is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to support procurement and supply chain operations for a research site in Cambridge. In this role, you will work closely with the Lab and Operations team to manage purchasing processes, foster supplier relationships, and contribute to the site's operational goals. This is a 1-year temporary position based on-site three days a week.
Responsibilities:
1. Process and manage purchase orders, ensuring alignment with delivery schedules and project requirements.
2. Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, availability, pricing, and resolving delivery or invoice discrepancies.
3. Set up and maintain supplier accounts, monitor performance, and build strong supplier relationships.
4. Assist with inventory management by maintaining accurate stock records.
5. Collaborate with scientists, lab operations, and facilities teams to enhance understanding of purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
6. Provide general administrative support, including data entry, system updates (e.g., ERP systems like Epicor or SAP), and report generation.
7. Monitor and mitigate cost increases where possible.
Key Skills and Requirements:
8. Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and external suppliers.
10. High attention to detail and accuracy in managing purchase orders, invoices, and supplier data.
11. Proficiency in IT systems; experience with SAP, Jaggaer, or Oracle is preferred.
12. Problem-solving abilities to address issues related to orders, deliveries, and pricing.
