We’re a proud, long-established family business with a passion for quality, craft and innovation. Now, we’re looking for a proactive and capable Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager to help deliver the next generation of landmark projects.
Role Responsibilities
As the QS/Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of your projects from order to final account .
Key responsibilities include:
· Lead and coordinate site teams across multiple high-profile projects
· Ensure every element of GJ work meets our exceptional standards and stays on programme
· Take commercial responsibility, including monthly valuations and final accounts
· Act as the face of George Jackson, building trusted relationships with clients and project teams
· Review drawings, programmes and specifications, and create accurate GJ sub-programmes
· Manage material call-offs from our workshop to keep production and site running smoothly
· Maintain exceptional safety, organisation and professionalism on site
· Prepare method statements, risk assessments and project documentation
Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for someone who brings commitment, competence and a desire to grow. Ideal candidates will have:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction, interiors or specialist trades an advantage, but not essential
· Strong commercial awareness
· Good IT skills, particularly in Excel
· Excellent communication skills — clear, professional and client friendly
· A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
· Ability to read and understand drawings and programmes of works
