Penrhyncoch Primary School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant – Level 1 (Behaviour/Guidance/Support) to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who need extra support to succeed.
As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
2. Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, and welfare matters.
3. Help implement and review Individual Education and Behaviour Plans, and Personal Care programmes.
4. Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour across the school.
5. Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and school activities such as trips and out-of-class events.
6. Work closely with teachers to support learning and manage pupil behaviour effectively.
We are looking for someone who:
7. Has experience working with or caring for children of relevant age.
8. Holds good literacy and numeracy skills, and is willing to complete the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme.
9. Can use basic ICT to support learning and classroom activities.
10. Is flexible, positive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
11. Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion, and teamwork.
12. Has appropriate knowledge of first aid and is comfortable supporting pupils’ personal needs.
