About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you’ll help our customers feel the difference with Partner-led service and a passion for food. Your drive to go the extra mile will shape the impression of the Waitrose brand and encourage customer loyalty. If you join us from 5 October, night hours between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.50 per hour, applicable to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
If you are employed on or before 4 October 2025, you will receive a shift premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, paid at the pay range minimum rate for your role.
Key responsibilities
* Stock replenishment – ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.
* Fulfilling online customer orders ready for our drivers to deliver to customers’ doors.
* Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns for items approaching their sell-by dates.
* Working with the wider shop team to support when needed, including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, fulfilling on-demand customer orders, and more.
* Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential skills/experience
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
