This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and optimising procurement categories within a dynamic and growing organisation. The Role: As Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading the strategic procurement of key categories, ensuring value for money, supplier performance, and long-term business efficiency. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will drive category strategies that align with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement category strategies to optimise cost, quality, and supply chain resilience. Lead supplier negotiations and manage key supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and cost efficiency. Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings. Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure procurement strategies support overall business goals. Manage tenders, contracts, and supplier agreements in line with company policies and regulations. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain continuity. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a Category Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar role. Strong background in strategic sourcing and category management, ideally within the rail or a similar industry. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable. What’s On Offer?
