2. Creation: Studio/location lighting, 3D environments, AI prompt engineering.

About the HPL within Event Production, Light and Video

Nottingham Trent University’s BSc Event Production course seeks enthusiastic practitioners to teach Lighting and Video. You’ll deliver seminars, technical workshops, lectures, and tutorials, as well as supervise and assess student projects and live briefs.

The role involves working within a collaborative academic team, aligning teaching with current industry standards. Cross-course projects may also connect you with costume, set, performance, and production design.

We particularly welcome applicants with professional experience in lighting design, console operation, video design, or video mapping, from backgrounds in theatre, film, TV, or live events.

About the HPL within Costume Design and Construction

Nottingham Trent University seeks practitioners to teach on the BA Costume Design and Construction course. You’ll deliver seminars, workshops, lectures, and tutorials, as well as support student supervision and assessment across all years.

The course sits within Nottingham School of Art & Design and works closely with Theatre and Live Performance. Collaboration is central, and you may contribute to cross-course projects involving costume, set, prop, performance, and production design.

We welcome applicants with professional experience in costume design, construction, or both particularly those applying industry-standard methods, digital tools, and sustainable, inclusive practices. Teaching experience is valued but not essential; the ability to guide, support, and inspire students is key.

We encourage applications from professionals across theatre, film, TV and events.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Appointments are subject to curriculum needs, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - early applications encouraged.
