We're currently seeking a Workshop Engineer to join one of the UK's leading providers of specialist access equipment and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). The company operates one of the largest and most advanced fleets in the country, supporting major infrastructure sectors such as power, telecoms, and local authorities. As a Workshop Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained, repaired, and compliant to the highest safety and performance standards. You'll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly, working with state-of-the-art machinery in a well-equipped workshop environment. Job Overview Dismantle, refurbish, and reassemble access platforms from light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, company policies, and relevant safety regulations. Replace hydraulic hoses, fittings, and related components as required. Carry out replacement of pins, bushes, and fasteners to maintain equipment integrity and safety. Perform all workshop tasks efficiently, safely, and within specified timeframes. Communicate promptly with the Depot Manager regarding any defects, safety concerns, or equipment issues. Accurately record all job details on the workshop handheld tablet, including labour time, parts used, and vehicle status updates. Maintain proper stock control and usage records for all parts and consumables. Adhere to the company's health and safety policies and ensure safe working practices at all times. Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised, and hazard-free. Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth running of the depot.Job Requirements Proven experience in engineering, including auto electrics, hydraulics, and diagnostic fault-finding. Strong ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively under pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills with a clear focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
