Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Siemens Systems Engineer to join a growing automation business delivering turnkey automated warehouse systems across the UK.
Youll split your time between development and testing in the innovation centre and delivering projects on-site across the Home Counties and Midlands, with commissioning phases typically lasting between 26 months.
Key aspects of the Siemens Systems Engineer role include:
Working with Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal, with a strong focus on Structured Text
Designing and developing control systems for automated warehouse and pallet handling solutions
Involvement in full turnkey projects from concept and design through to commissioning
Carrying out testing and development work in the Nuneaton-based innovation centre
Supporting project delivery on-site, following systems through installation and commissioning
Exposure to other PLC platforms such as Beckhoff and Allen Bradley
Collaborating with a small UK team alongside international engineering groups
Hybrid working available when not on-site could be as little as 1-2 days per fortnight in the office
This role will suit a Siemens Systems Engineer with a hybrid background someone who understands systems properly because theyve been hands-on earlier in their career, whether thats electrical, mechanical or mechatronics.
Key requirements of the Siemens Systems Engineer role include:
Strong Siemens TIA Portal experience is essential
Proven use of Structured Text (ST)
Background in automated warehousing, conveyors, shuttles or material handling systems would be ideal
Ability to interrogate, modify, tweak and enhance PLC code as well as develop from scratch
Comfortable spending extended periods on-site during project delivery
Experience with Beckhoff or Allen Bradley would be advantageous
Likely to have around 10+ years relevant industry experience
The successful Siemens Systems Engineer will be joining at an early stage of UK growth, with multiple projects already secured with more planned. Youll work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered in the UK.
