Base pay range
Salary: £22,274 - £24,796 per annum depending on experience (This is the actual salary)
Location and terms
* Location: Appleton Academy, Bradford
* Hours: 35 hours per week - 5 days per week. Monday - Friday term time only plus inset days
* Contract type: Permanent
* Closing date: 6 October 2025
* Interview dates: 1st Stage Interviews online on 7 October; second interviews in school the following week (dates to be confirmed). We may interview before the closing date.
Role purpose and duties
We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team to make a difference in children's lives every day. You will work in close partnership with families and school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality, engagement in learning, behaviour in school and the local community, as well as improving social and emotional regulation and well-being. You will have excellent relationship-building and communications skills with the ability to communicate with a wide group of people.
Responsibilities
* Engage with parents, carers or guardians, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
* Work in an educational or outreach environment
* Address social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
* Deliver family support
* Work with families from diverse communities
Qualifications and experience
* Previous experience of working with families in education or outreach settings
* Experience delivering family support
* Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
