Morson are recruiting for a Tool Pre-Setter on behalf of a prestigious motorsport team back in South Oxfordshire.
This is initially a 6 month contract, likely to be long-term.
Pay rates: 35.70 per hour Umbrella OR 26.00 per hour PAYE PLUS 3.91 holiday pay per hour (29.91)

Tuesday to Friday 07:30 – 18:30
Main Duties:
• Manage the booking in/out of cutter tooling, tool holders, ancillary components, and fixtures to ensure
we have an efficient inventory control system that supports our commitment to 5S principles.
• Check and validate used cutter tooling to maximise tool life with the key objective to reduce waste and
cutter tooling spend.
• Preparation of and signing off job packs aligned to production schedule with key objective to maximise
spindle capacity.
• Ensure department adherence to business-critical process data capture requirements across all Williams systems such as the Time Evaluation System (TES) and the Manufacturing Execution System (MESTEC).
• Build and pre-set CNC spindle tool assemblies as per part specific Work Instructions.
• Gather CNC spindle tool assemblies, Work Orders, workholding fixtures and material, and the part specific Work Instructions ready for production to meet the requirements of the business.
• Deliver completed “Job Packs” to the correct machine tool/area using tool trolleys as supplied.
• Disassemble CNC spindle tool assemblies after production.
• Manage storage, building and pre-setting of spindle tool assemblies.
• Manage ad-hoc special cutter tooling inventory.
• Manage used cutter tooling and grading/discarding as required.
• Monitor condition/quantities of CNC spindle tool holders and collets.
• Track service requirements for driven tooling units.
• Manage all workholding fixture inventory.
Experience required:
Experience in a fast-paced machining or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of cutter tooling, assemblies, and machining processes is beneficial.
Self-motivated and able to work independently to tight deadlines.
Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
