We are seeking an experienced Food and Nutrition Teacher to join this excellent SEMH Secondary school based in Tower Hamlets. They work with students who come from vulnerable backgrounds and work with them to create paths to a bright future. This role will be full-time, primarily involving teaching Food and Nutrition to KS3 and KS4 classes, with additional cover duties as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and delivering Food and Nutrition lessons that meet the curriculum specifications.
2. Supporting students through inclusive and differentiated teaching methods.
3. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to support exam preparation.
4. Covering other lessons with support from school staff.
5. Holding a recognized teaching qualification, such as Qualified Teacher Status.
6. Experience delivering GCSE Food and Nutrition.
7. Ability to create a structured and inclusive learning environment for SEMH students.
8. Supporting student wellbeing and adapting to individual learning needs.
Desirable:
* Experience in specialist or alternative education settings.
* Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Familiarity with therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches to teaching.
