Job Opportunity: Social Care Lawyer/Senior Lawyer at Bradford Council
We offer a market supplement of 15% for 12 months to senior lawyers with substantial experience and knowledge in social care law.

We serve Children and Adult Services, representing Bradford Adult Social Care and the Bradford Children and Families Trust. We are seeking to appoint one lawyer or senior lawyer to join our busy, professional social care legal team, specializing in adult social care and safeguarding. This role offers the opportunity to develop legal expertise in a diverse range of matters and to build on any specialized interests in this field. We believe this position will enable the right candidate to make a positive impact while working with a friendly and supportive team.

The establishment of the Children and Families Trust has opened new opportunities for innovative working approaches to improve legal service delivery. The role also involves providing advice to council members, senior officers, scrutiny committees, and departmental managers on policy and high-profile public issues.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor, barrister, or fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Applications from those working towards qualification will also be considered.
* Experience or knowledge in adult social care law, including Court of Protection proceedings, deprivation of liberty applications, Human Rights Act implications, mental health law, coronial proceedings, public law, and policy advice.
* Ability to manage an active, diverse caseload, prepare for and attend court hearings, advocate on behalf of clients, and participate in legal and case planning meetings.
* Capability to work effectively under pressure, especially in emergency and urgent situations, including participating in duty rotas and advising at legal gateway and panel meetings.
* Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to contribute to legal service delivery and collaborate with relevant agencies.
* Opportunities to engage with senior management and develop an understanding of local government practices.
