We’re working with a growing and well‑established business in East Sussex that is looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take full ownership of its warehouse and internal logistics function.
This is a standalone role, ideal for someone who is comfortable being both hands‑on in the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse as well as operating at a management level, driving improvements, efficiencies, and overall performance. You’ll have full responsibility for the function, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy and variety in their role.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of warehouse operations – from goods‑in through to dispatch – ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
This role requires a balance of operational delivery and strategic oversight, with the opportunity to shape processes, systems, and performance as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full daily warehouse operation including picking, packing, and dispatch
* Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time
* Manage inbound goods and maintain robust receipting processes
* Take ownership of stock control, including stocktakes and inventory accuracy
* Coordinate UK and international shipments, including documentation and logistics partners
* Manage and utilise ERP/WMS systems for stock control and reporting
* Review and optimise warehouse layout, storage, and workflow
* Monitor KPIs such as pick accuracy, productivity, and dispatch performanceDrive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and efficiencies
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and operational standards
* Build and manage relationships with suppliers, hauliers, and internal stakeholders
* Oversee equipment, maintenance, and operational budgets
* Remain hands‑on where required to support the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse
About You
* Proven experience in a warehouse or operations management role
* Comfortable working in a standalone position, managing both strategic and hands‑on responsibilities
* Background in manufacturing, distribution, or a similar environment
* Strong understanding of warehouse processes and stock control
* Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems
* Knowledge of international shipping and export documentation
* A valid Reach Truck licence is essential
* Confident working in a fast‑paced environment, managing priorities effectively
* A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail
