Role Summary
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are recruiting an HR Advisor for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (part‑time, 29 hours per week, 0.8 FTE) based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will support the HR Manager across employee relations, projects, change and generalist work.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality, proactive HR service and advice to staff and managers.
* Support employee relations, projects, change management and generalist HR duties.
* Build relationships with senior managers and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage day‑to‑day advisory work and liaise with the HR Manager as required.
* Maintain high professional standards and contribute to continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in an HR advisory or employee advisory capacity.
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation.
* Experience with iTrent (or similar HRIS) and payroll is an advantage.
* Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
* Ability to multitask, work independently and as part of a team.
Eligibility
ESMS does not sponsor skilled work visas. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
