Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking an experienced, values-driven Senior Manager (incorporating the role of Principal Educational Psychologist) to join our Inclusion Services Senior Management Team. This is a rare opportunity to provide strategic, professional and operational leadership across Educational Psychology and related inclusion services, supporting children and young people from early intervention through to statutory involvement. The post plays a critical role in strengthening wellbeing, safeguarding and access to education, enabling learners to thrive within their communities across Carmarthenshire. Working within the Inclusion Leadership Team, you will champion inclusive education, trauma-informed and person-centred practice and strong multi‑agency collaboration across education, health, social care and the wider community.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
* A recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology (Doctorate or Masters) conferring eligibility for Chartered Psychologist Status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) within the domain of Educational Psychology.
* Experience as an Educational Psychologist, including strategic leadership experience.
* Strong knowledge and a clear commitment to equity, inclusion, trauma-informed practice and the Welsh language.
* Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with barred list clearance and the ability to work flexibly, including occasional work outside normal office hours.
* Welsh language level – verbal Level 4. Effective communication in Welsh is required; reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
