Occupational Therapist Adult Social Care Local Authority located in Wigan Contract: Part-time | 18.5 hours per week | Initial 3–6 months with potential for extension A local authority located in Wigan is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Early Intervention Team on a part-time basis (18.5 hours per week). This role focuses on early intervention, prevention, and timely assessment to reduce the need for long-term care and support. The successful candidate will work within a supportive local authority team, completing assessments and recommending practical solutions to promote independence and wellbeing. Main Duties: Complete Care Act 2014 assessments within an Early Intervention framework Undertake community-based Occupational Therapy assessments Identify preventative interventions to reduce escalation of care needs Recommend and arrange appropriate equipment and minor adaptations Promote independence through strength-based and proportionate assessments Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, and partner agencies Ensure all work is completed in line with safeguarding procedures Maintain accurate and timely case recordingRequirements: Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience Previous experience as a community-based Occupational Therapist Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014 Experience working within Early Intervention or preventative services (desirable) ...
