Overview
Solicitors Regulation Authority, a front-line regulatory body, is recruiting multiple Forensic Investigation Officers. The role is field-based and requires travel across England and Wales.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own portfolio of cases related to regulatory investigations.
* Investigate financial discrepancies and analyse complex information and data.
* Attend law firms to determine serious professional misconduct, including breaches of the SRA Accounts Rules.
* Gather evidence remotely and onsite, interview key individuals, and obtain witness statements.
* Compile robust, clear, and factual reports to inform regulatory decisions, which may lead to disciplinary proceedings or closing a law firm.
* Represent the SRA in court and give evidence of investigation findings.
* Review and analyse complex information, including numerical and accounting information and documents relating to legal transactions, and develop a strong understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations, including the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Qualifications and experience
* Proven experience in one or more of the following areas: investigation, accountancy/audit, or professional regulation.
* Ability to work in a field-based role with travel as required.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and data.
* Commitment to understanding and applying the SRA Standards and Regulations.
