Purpose of the role
Colas Ltd. are looking for a Technology Services Technician to be based at the Longbridge depot, CV35 8AA. You will be a part of the Area 9 Maintenance & Response contract with Colas, working on behalf of National Highways. Who will deliver both Cyclical and Reactive works they are assigned and will be responsible for safeguarding the welfare and health and safety of themselves and those working around them. They will take an active role in ensuring their own skills and knowledge are up to date and fit for purpose.
Main Responsibilities
As a Technology Services Technician you will be responsible: for Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities, for delivering technology cyclical works and response over the course of their shift, report directly to the Technology supervisor on health and safety and progress during shifts they are working on and report to Technology Manager / Supervisor on activities undertaken during shifts they work. You will use a range of hand & power tools and operate items of plant, including Hiab and MEWP. You will also perform other duties as may be reasonably requested. Predominantly working Monday to Friday day shift with night shifts as required. The successful applicant will also ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have similar experience within Highways or from an electrical background. However, we are open to individuals who are willing to learn and pursue a long term career and progression within this field of work. A full UK driving licence is required for this role. You will be able to work independently without close supervision, you will be forward thinking, a good communicator and hardworking. You will have the desire to work collaboratively to find the root cause of issues and deliver a proactive maintenance approach.

* A salary between £32,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience and licences) uplifts for night shifts and overtime paid at time and a half
