The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant for our Medium Secure unit at The Hatherton Centre, St George's Hospital. The role involves working with adult males on the Psychiatric Intensive Care ward.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the development and delivery of treatment to service users, including individual and group interventions.
* Support assessments, planning, implementation, evidence gathering, evaluation, and outcome measuring as part of the Occupational Therapy process.
* Work actively as part of the multi‑disciplinary team and collaborate with Occupational Therapy and ward staff to meet diverse needs.
* Carry out delegated clinical activities independently and provide support to other staff to ensure staffing levels and skill mix are met.
* Prepare clinical areas, communicate plans with patients and staff, and accompany Occupational Therapy staff as required.
Person specification
Qualifications & Training
* Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 (e.g., NVQ or OCN related to Health & Social Care).
* Understanding of Occupational Therapy role and prior experience working alongside an Occupational Therapist.
Experience
* Experience in health or social care settings, particularly with people with mental health needs.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Ability to work independently, self‑motivated, and manage competing needs.
* Ability to build positive therapeutic relationships with service users and carers in 1:1/group settings.
* Calm in emergencies and able to respond professionally to stressful situations.
* Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
