Are you a skilled Software Engineer with a passion for supporting and developing manufacturing software systems? I am recruiting for a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced fiber laser technology, delivering cutting‑edge solutions for industries worldwide.
About the Role
As part of a small, dedicated team, you'll be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and supporting complex software applications that play a key role in our manufacturing operations. With 80% of your time dedicated to support and troubleshooting, and 20% focused on development, you’ll be an integral part of our software engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and maintain the in‑house Manufacturing Execution System (MCS).
* Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing the functionality and performance of the system.
* Troubleshoot and resolve software and application issues across various systems.
* Assist in maintaining other company Microsoft SQL databases.
* Diagnose and resolve Windows PC issues related to OS, software, hardware, network, or security restrictions.
Essential Experience
* 2+ years of experience with Delphi (front‑end and back‑end) and SQL database interaction.
* Strong SQL skills, including managing live production databases and performing CRUD operations.
* Familiarity with Object‑Oriented methodologies.
* Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
* Proven troubleshooting abilities for both software and hardware on PCs.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus.
Desirable Experience
* Experience with barcode labeling (ZPL/EPL programming languages).
* Familiarity with source code control systems like SVN or Git.
* Knowledge of networking programming (TCP/IP, UDP).
* Experience with writing REST APIs.Exposure to ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
Qualifications
* Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
* HND qualifications may be considered if paired with relevant experience in software development.
