Job description
A nursery in Reading is looking for a Toddler Room Leader to join their team.
Options for hours:
1. Option 1: Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, 43.75 hours per week. Eligible for an attendance bonus of up to £90 each month if there was no sickness absence the previous month.
2. Option 2: Monday to Friday, shift pattern of 8am-5pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, or 9am-6pm, totaling 38.75 hours per week. Options can be discussed prior to employment commencement.
Salary: Up to £28,000 gross per annum.
Qualifications: Must have a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB, B-TEC, NVQ 3, or equivalent).
Holiday: 29 days holiday including bank and public holidays.
The nursery will provide mandatory training including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Fire Safety, and Food Hygiene.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with all employees sharing this commitment.
* Providing a warm and caring environment for children, maintaining high standards of childcare.
* Being an exemplary role model to promote high standards of professional practice.
* Working with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver the relevant curriculum in line with current legislation.
* Working as a key person to a group of children to meet individual needs, track development, and alert managers to concerns.
* Delivering suitable experiences tailored to individual children, including adaptations for inclusive practice and appropriate challenges.
* Partnering with parents/carers, recognizing them as the children's prime educators.
* Ensuring effective induction for new children and families.
* Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, reporting issues promptly.
* Leading practitioners in your area of work.
* Involving in the induction of new employees, supervising and training students and apprentices as needed.
* Completing and storing written records in compliance with GDPR regulations.
* Respecting privacy and confidentiality of colleagues, parents, and children, in line with legal requirements.
