Mechanical Inspector -Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Ballymena Join the team at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Ballymena as a Mechanical Inspector and play an important role in providing an inspection service on all Natural Gas, Oil, planned and response maintenance contracts. About the role:
1. £16.90 per hour
2. Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
3. 37 hours per week
4. Holidays: 35 days pro rata
5. Duration:Temporary, ongoing

What you will be doing in this role:
7. Maintain a daily diary monitoring site activities. Also to present and clearly communicate to the Clerk of Works/Contract Administrator/Project Manager by email all inspection findings including Health and Safety and Welfare in a comprehensive electronic Weekly Report that accurately records and reflects all findings on site.
8. Inspect the works at various stages of construction and provide electronic reports on compliance with Executive Specification and Statutory Regulations, as well as workmanship and materials.
9. Immediately advise the Contract Administrator/Project Manager of any non-compliance including Health and Safety and Welfare which requires urgent notification, action and attention; with particular reference to any dangerous Health and Safety Welfare breaches on site.
10. General measurement of works as and when necessary or requested by Project Manager.
11. Keep the Contract Administrator/Project Manager informed by Email, phone with particular reference to any variations from the proposed works, or any aspect of the works that could give rise to a Compensation Event.
12. Accompany Clerk of Works/Contract Administrator/Project Manager during the works Handover Process and in a timely and accurate manner complete a Weekly Report and email to Clerk of Works/Contract Administrator/Project Manager for action.
What you'll need for this role:
13. Degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline plus 1 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction Function.
14. OR BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline plus 2 years’ relevant experience working within a Building /Construction function.
15. OR can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 4 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
16. Can demonstrate significant experience in Mechanical Installation, Inspection and Testing.
17. Hold the following certifications: Gas Safe: CCN1, OFTEC: 101 NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating or equivalent level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating
18. Candidates must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
19. As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
