Job Title: Service Engineer (CCTV / Security)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent – 39 hours
Schedule: Monday to Friday (plus call-out rota as required)
Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Engineer to join our growing Fire & Security Service team in Glasgow. This role will primarily focus on the service, maintenance, and fault-finding of IP and Analogue CCTV systems, while also supporting associated security systems where required.
You will be responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and emergency support, ensuring CCTV system reliability, compliance, and performance across a varied customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine PPM on IP and Analogue CCTV systems in line with scheduled tasks and industry standards.
* Diagnose and repair faults on networked CCTV systems, including cameras, NVRs/DVRs, recording platforms, and associated infrastructure.
* Respond effectively to reactive maintenance calls, breakdowns, and emergency situations.
* Support integration and basic fault-finding on associated systems including Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Fire Alarm interfaces where required.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
* Complete detailed and accurate job documentation, service reports, and asset records.
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers for specialist CCTV system support.
* Provide professional client support, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Participate in the on-call rota for emergency response.
* Identify opportunities for CCTV system upgrades, improvements, and lifecycle replacements.
* Support wider engineering teams when operationally required.
* Contribute proactively to service improvement and contract growth.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Recognised Fire & Security Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
* Strong hands-on experience with IP and Analogue CCTV systems
* Experience in servicing, fault-finding, and maintaining networked CCTV systems
* Good understanding of current security industry standards
* Minimum of Nat 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* Industry experience in Fire & Security environments
Desirable:
* Knowledge of IP networking (switches, routers, VLANs, remote access configuration)
* Experience with integrated security platforms
* Health & Safety training (Manual Handling, Working at Height)
* Current ECS card
* IPAF and/or PASMA certification
* Supervisory experience or ambition for career progression
