Many of our practices are networked and linked to provide support to each other. On occasion within your planned working schedule, you may be requested to work at the linked practice site in Abingdon. In these situations, travel time and cost will be allowed for.
The vacant post is full time working 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
* The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team (MDT) delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health.
* The post holder will work with the Principal Nursing Officer (PNO) or Senior Medical Officer (SMO) within the medical facility (MF) and will be a focal point for Primary Healthcare nursing issues within area of practice.
* The post holder will be able to work unsupervised and provide nursing care to the Medical Facility (MF) population at risk.
* The post holder will hold an individual case load, and through consultation identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, minor illness and specific diseases within their level of competence.

Job responsibilities
* The post holder will provide specialist high-quality person-centred care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based.
* The post holder will monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research and education.
* The post holder will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service.
* The post holder will have line management, training and clinical supervision responsibilities for Military Medics, junior practice nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
* The post holder will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) /DPHC policies and guidelines.
