HR Assistant (FTC to cover maternity)
Join TC Professional Services, a fast‑growing top 20 accountancy firm. We are seeking an HR Assistant to cover maternity leave on a fixed‑term contract for 18 months. The role is based in our Portsmouth office and is full time.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver full HR administration responsibility across a region, managing new starter and leaver processes.
* Update monthly payroll documentation and verify payslips.
* Monitor sickness records and manage contractual changes.
* Handle employee life‑cycle tasks for 500+ staff, including database management.
* Support the Head of HR and HR Manager with projects.
* Process contractual and payroll information with speed, accuracy and excellent service.
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Previous experience of working in HR or payroll would be advantageous.
* Experience in an administrative role in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent IT skills and great attention to detail.
* Hardworking, self‑starter with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
* Ability to pick up new concepts quickly and change priorities swiftly.
* Confidence with formatting documentation and numbers.
* Ability to work independently and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
* A team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and an efficient and personable communicator.
