Overview
Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse role at NHS. Based at York Hospital, Ward 36, specialising in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Aims to recruit an individual who is passionate about educating and developing staff to reach their full potential, and who can make a genuine difference in patients’ lives by providing very high quality care.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at York Hospital. Remote interviews will not be available.
Responsibilities
Main duties of the job: consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership to the team and supporting delivery of high quality, effective and evidence-based care. Focus on patient experience and patient safety, and provide assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop the ward and drive service improvement. Create an inspirational learning and working environment; be assertive, flexible, resilient, forward-thinking and prepared to develop leadership skills in an acute setting. Take charge in challenging circumstances and support junior colleagues at all times.

Essential experience/qualifications include:
* At least 2 years at Band 5 or equivalent nursing
* Insight into clinical speciality (Gastroenterology)
* Clinical audit and standard setting
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
* NMC Registered Nurse (Level 1)
Training and development:Evidence of continued professional development and implementation in clinical practice within the last 12 months. Desirable: understanding of training needs in relation to the post.
