Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Maintenance Engineer to manage the maintenance and repair of our facilities and Warehouse department. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong technical background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, as well as the ability to lead a small team and ensure the smooth operation of the site. As the Senior Maintenance Engineer you will be required to take such day-to-day decisions as are necessary to maintain an efficient and effective service, any complex matters are to be referred to the Operations Manager or Head of Operations for guidance and resolution.
Self-motivated and willing to improve efficiency and deliver cost savings, organised to lead and develop the team. Manage a team of 2-4 engineers, providing guidance and direction to ensure a high-quality and efficient maintenance performance. Conducting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks including Mobile racking maintenance and repairs, Management of dock levellers and loading bays, floor repairs, Roller/slide door repairs/replacement / Conveyors / Facilities. Maintain and document accurate records of maintenance activities and planning schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Liaise with external contractors and service providers as the main point of contact. Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies including regulatory controls.
Responsibilities

* Maintain and document accurate records of maintenance activities and planning schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
* Liaise with external contractors and service providers as the main point of contact.
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies including regulatory controls.
* Take day-to-day decisions to maintain an efficient and effective service; refer complex matters to Operations Manager or Head of Operations for guidance.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled maintenance role within a warehousing, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated and ambitious with a desire to progress in the business.
* Welding skills would be advantageous but not essential.
* Experience of leading and managing a team.
* Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
