The Social Obligations Team manages NGED’s customer vulnerability strategy, supporting vulnerable customers through various programs and initiatives, including fuel poverty and low carbon transition services.
The position can be based in one of NGED’s operational areas, with regular attendance at offices in Castle Donington and Cardiff likely required. The role supports a hybrid working model, combining office and home working after initial training and depending on business needs.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver NGED’s customer vulnerability strategy, achieving objectives related to smart energy and fuel poverty.
2. Maximize benefits from the ED2 customer vulnerability incentives.
3. Drive efficiency in social obligation projects, reducing costs and maximizing benefits for customers.
4. Develop reporting mechanisms to update leadership on project progress and impact.
5. Collaborate with the Customer Excellence team to align project delivery and stakeholder communication.
6. Maintain and expand networks of referral and delivery partners.
7. Coordinate data sharing and strategy development for the Priority Services Register (PSR).
8. Represent the company in governance and project groups related to social obligations.
9. Prepare and present regulatory submissions for incentives.
10. Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure standards and audits, including BS ISO 22458, are met.
Ideal Candidate
Project Management
* Extensive experience managing multiple complex projects with high standards and minimal guidance.
* Experience designing engagement activities and managing high-value third-party contracts.
* Strong communication skills, proactive leadership, and stakeholder influencing abilities.
* Ability to articulate complex policy solutions clearly and effectively across channels.
* Excellent networking, negotiation, and written communication skills.
Stakeholders & Industry Experience
* Knowledge of regional stakeholder networks within NGED’s areas.
* Understanding of the regulated industry, including relationships with regulators and government.
* Experience working collaboratively with internal stakeholders in large organizations.
National Grid is committed to safeguarding and will require a DBS check depending on the role. Some roles may require triannual checks.
