About the Role

The post holder will support the organisation and the Programme Management Team in the overseeing, implementing and delivering the mobilisation of new waste and street cleansing services into for the borough.
Key activities will include;
1. providing a direct point of contact with contractors and the existing contractors and council teams to facilitate the smooth mobilisation of services;
2. supporting with the establish of robust contract management mechanisms and procedures;
3. administering projects, ensure appropriate monitoring and updates and support the delivery of work streams;
4. carrying out a compliance and assurance role such as audits including site condition and asset surveys, bin surveys, cleanliness inspections;
5. supporting the wider Council team to deliver key strategic plans include Communications Carbon Reduction and Recycling Improvement Plans.
About Us 1
Waste services in Sutton are transforming. This a new and exciting role that will support Council’s ambitions to minimise waste, increase recycling rates and utilise technology to improve the customer’s experience, along with the redevelopment of a new waste depot in the borough.
The Transformation Programme is sponsored by the Assistant Director of Environment and is a key strategic priority for the Council being led by the Head of Waste, Contracts Transformation.
The postholder will work closely with a range of departments and leads in the organisation, with operational managers to deliver the projects, implement systems change within existing services, work on quality processes and procedures.
About You 1
The right candidate will demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in what they do. You will be an agent of change, tasked to oversee, manage and enable projects with the contractors, ensuring quality standards are met and that procedures and processes are implemented and maintained as services mobilise into .
We’re keen to hear from someone with a background in project management ideally in environmental services. You will have good communication skills, both written and verbally, to support the Programme Management and in reporting to the Board. You will be highly organised, can manage working on multiple projects simultaneously and alongside a range of stakeholders, external contractors and colleagues across several departments and disciplines.
