The core of this role is working with people, building relationships, understanding needs and helping people access the right support. You will spend time speaking to families, partners and practitioners to shape how we communicate and deliver services both face‑to‑face and online. The focus is early intervention, supporting people before crisis, and helping families navigate services with confidence. This hybrid role involves regular travel across Family Hub locations including Towcester, Daventry and other community sites.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with families, partners and practitioners in community settings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Explain services, signpost and support families to appropriate resources, both in person and online.
  • Gather insights from conversations to inform service improvement and digital strategy.
  • Collaborate with practitioners, partners and teams to evaluate services and identify gaps.
  • Support the development and review of digital content, including websites, social media and online communications.
  • Assist with testing new approaches (events, sessions, digital activity) and share findings.
  • Participate in regular travel across Family Hub locations.

Qualifications

  • Confidence and experience in digital, communications or marketing.
  • Experience or confidence working with websites, social media or digital content.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with different audiences, both online and offline.
  • Skill in translating community insights into clear, accessible content.
  • Experience or interest in improving digital access and reducing barriers such as digital poverty.
  • Strong community engagement skills and an empathetic, culturally aware approach.
  • Confidence in engaging with vulnerable or harder‑to‑reach groups.

Additional Information

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check.

West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
