We are seeking an experienced professional in the Environmental Protection field, preferably a qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO). The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge base and the ability to 'hit the ground running'.
Essential qualities include:
1. Experience in successfully handling statutory nuisance complaints and investigations, including the use of newer powers such as Community Protection Notices;
2. Competence and experience in using sound level monitoring and measuring equipment, along with interpreting results (e.g., BS4142, 'MATRON');
3. Experience in Environmental Permit inspection and management.
It would be advantageous for the candidate to have experience in the air quality sector.
While a qualified EHO is preferred, we are open to considering other professionals with substantial relevant experience in Environmental Protection.
The successful candidate must hold a full driving licence and provide their own transport. Although remote working is possible on occasion, the role primarily requires working from our offices to facilitate responsive site visits. There may also be a need for pre-planned work outside of normal hours by arrangement.
The standard working hours are 37 hours per week, with flexibility, primarily covering the morning hours and beyond.
