This role involves owning all aspects of counterparty risk monitoring across Marex's EMEA client base, ensuring thorough understanding and reporting of risk exposures and limits.
You will lead the EMEA counterparty risk team, support and develop analysts, and deputize for the Global Head of Credit when needed.
You will produce well-researched recommendations for credit facilities, submitted to senior management.
Responsibilities:
* Qualitative and quantitative analysis of clients & counterparties, including corporates, financial institutions, individuals, CCPs, and state-owned enterprises.
* Monitor macroeconomic factors affecting credit risk in various countries.
* Lead integration projects for new acquisitions from a credit perspective.
* Develop well-researched recommendations for credit facilities and renewals.
* Interact with clients domestically and internationally.
* Prepare management reports periodically and as needed.
* Advise on credit-related matters for the EMEA region and manage credit applications and reviews.
* Build effective internal relationships to support client service.
* Contribute to credit risk policies and procedures.
* Escalate relevant issues to senior management.

Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of corporate financial analysis, preferably from banking or brokerage backgrounds.
* Experience in credit assessment and modeling.
* Knowledge of credit risk in commodities trading.
* University degree or equivalent experience.
* Proficiency in MS Office; Bloomberg knowledge is a plus.
* Experience with clients in the commodities sector.
* Additional language skills are desirable.
* Experience in regulated environments and compliance.
