We are currently looking to hire an experienced Waste Coordinator to join our Infrastructure team based in Sellafield on a 15-year framework.

Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake inspections, surveillances, observations, and assurance activities to identify and highlight waste performance gaps, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
2. Monitor and record waste movements, ensuring compliance with agreed parameters.
3. Inspect waste laydown areas to ensure they are compliant and in line with SL requirements.
4. Support the Duty Holder in investigating waste incidents and events, ensuring corrective actions are taken, and learning opportunities are shared.
5. Collaborate with and support the project team to coordinate planned waste management requirements, preventing delays to the project schedule.
6. Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of waste processes, legislation, hazards, and controls.
7. Identify, support, and facilitate waste improvement programmes.
8. Ensure the project Site Waste Management Plan is up-to-date and actively used as a live document.
9. Complete waste paperwork, including history and inventories, to facilitate removal from site.
10. Liaise with the client’s Environmental Advisor to manage waste routes, day-to-day waste activities, and waste duty of care checks.
11. Support water management arrangements as needed, including covering or providing additional resources.
Your profile
1. You hold a current and valid CSCS card, with experience managing contractors/subcontractors.
2. You have experience as a waste coordinator, ideally on large infrastructure or construction projects, or in a regulated environment.
3. You possess strong organisational and communication skills and work well in a team environment.
4. You are a collaborative relationship builder with effective stakeholder management skills.
5. You demonstrate a positive working culture with consistent behaviors and conduct; an assessment may be part of the interview process.
Desirable Skills and Experience
1. Full UK driving license, as transportation to site is not provided.
2. Experience working in a nuclear environment.
