Salisbury Pantry aims to go beyond the food bank model in creating a sustainable and long-term solution to food poverty and work as a membership scheme. Our Salisbury Pantry shop is part of our Communities team. This role is a job share where responsibilities are shared with our existing manager. The role involves managing Wednesday pantry operations and working with the existing manager to manage membership and funder communications, manage, support and develop the volunteer team, develop and deliver promotion events as well as liaising with food donation partners and suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained. There will be responsibility for maintaining our food hygiene standards and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment at the Pantry. You will work to support the Head of Community Services to plan the long-term development and sustainability of the Pantry.
Responsibilities
* Managing Wednesday pantry operations
* Managing membership and funder communications
* Managing, supporting and developing the volunteer team
* Developing and delivering promotional events
* Liaising with food donation partners and suppliers to ensure stock levels
* Maintaining food hygiene standards
* Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment at the Pantry
Qualifications and Essential Criteria

* Experience
o Working in a catering or food retail environment
o Delivering quality customer care
o Experience as a manager or supervisor
o Working with and handling cash
o Using a range of IT systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, databases
* Knowledge
o Food Hygiene standards
* Skills
o Ability to plan ahead for staffing and stock requirements
o Ability to keep accurate records using a variety of formats (paper records, Excel spreadsheets)
o Ability to work efficiently and complete all daily and weekly tasks without direct supervision
* Qualifications
o Food Hygiene Certificate (or willing to work towards)
o Driving licence
* Attributes
o A high level of interpersonal skills and an ability to deliver quality customer service
o A positive attitude to working with a wider range of people with diverse backgrounds
o A positive attitude to supporting people on low incomes, working and out of work, to provide nutritious food for their family
o A flexible attitude to undertaking a variety of duties
o Able and willing to work alone
o Able to work cooperatively as part of a small team
o Positive attitude to completing all tasks to the standard required
o Reliable and punctual
o Reasonable levels of physical fitness and strength, enabling the post holder to manage deliveries and stock
