Vision for Education is working in partnership with supportive secondary schools to recruit Cover Supervisors who can confidently engage, motivate, and support students across KS3 and KS4.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong behaviour management, relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
12. Supervise classes of around 30 students in the absence of the class teacher
13. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of secondary subjects
14. Use your youth work skills to engage students and manage behaviour positively
15. Take accurate registers and follow safeguarding procedures
16. Provide clear feedback and handover notes for teaching staff
You are not expected to be a subject specialist — your strength will be your ability to manage behaviour, communicate clearly, and support learning.

If you are new to working in schools, Vision for Education will support you through our Cover Supervisor Training Programme, covering:
17. Classroom and behaviour management strategies
18. Safeguarding and professional expectations in schools
19. Building positive relationships with secondary-aged students
20. Confidence in leading a classroom setting

Requirements
The ideal Cover Supervisor will have:
21. Experience working with young people (youth work, mentoring, support work, sports coaching, community roles, etc.)
22. Confidence leading and managing groups of young people
23. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
24. A positive, calm, and consistent approach
25. Eligibility to work in the UK and a DBS (or willingness to apply)
A degree is beneficial but not essential if you have strong relevant experience.
