Support Worker - Adolescent People's Services
Location: 77 Amersham Road, Lewisham, SE14 6QQ
Nearest Station: New Gate Train Station (8-10 mins walk)
Rate of Pay: £17.76 per hour (PAYE) | £23.44 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temp to Perm
DBS Requirement: Enhanced - Adults & Children
About the Role
Join our dedicated team in a vibrant 5-bed unit supporting Adolescent people aged 16-17 at risk of homelessness and care leavers aged 18-21. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable Adolescent people.
Shift Pattern
1. Early: 7:30am - 3:30pm
2. Late: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
3. Includes 1-2 weekends per month and one week of late shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities
4. Empower Adolescent People: Deliver face-to-face support, life coaching, and tailored activity programmes.
5. Build Independence: Teach essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.
6. Community Engagement: Foster connections between Adolescent people and the local community.
7. Trauma-Informed Support: Provide emotional and psychological support.
8. Life Strategies: Guide Adolescent people in making positive future choices.
9. Safeguarding: Respond promptly to any safeguarding concerns.
10. Property Management: Maintain high standards, conduct health & safety checks.
11. Rent Collection: Monitor and address arrears in line with policy.
12. Support with Benefits: Assist with applications and attend relevant meetings.
Requirements
13. Driving: Not essential, but desirable (own vehicle and business insurance also desirable).
14. Experience: Previous experience supporting Adolescent people is advantageous.
15. Enhanced DBS: Adults & Children.
