This post is part of a comprehensive rotational programme designed to provide extensive training and experience. The postholder will complete rotations within Medicine, each lasting 6 months. These rotations will take place across both hospital sites, ensuring exposure to a variety of medical specialties. This structure allows the junior doctor to gain a broad range of clinical skills and knowledge, preparing them for future career development within the NHS.
This role is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension to a total of two years. The extension will be contingent upon active and satisfactory engagement in the medical portfolio throughout the initial contract period.
Main duties of the job
Academy of Medicine- Trust Grade Doctors
The appointee will function as a Foundation Year 2 equivalent and will be expected to provide high-quality medical care, including patient assessments, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans. Participate in ward rounds, emergency care, and perform clinical procedures. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate documentation. Engage in teaching, training, clinical audits, and research projects, while adhering to NHS policies and continuing professional development.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MBBS or equivalent - Full registration with the GMC
2. 1 years post full registration with wide experience in most aspects of General Medicine
3. Ability to work with multi- disciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
4. MRCP – Part 1 or fully obtained or equivalent
5. ALS/APLS
6. Familiarity with NHS systems
