Role Overview Role: Production Maintenance Engineer Reporting to: Plant Manager Hours: 06:30 15:30 Location: Cookstown The Mission Your goal is to be the technical heartbeat of the facility. You will ensure maximum plant availability through expert machine operation, proactive maintenance, and rapid troubleshooting, making sound engineering decisions that balance safety, efficiency, and production impact. Your Day-to-Day 1. Engineering & Technical Response Rapid Troubleshooting: Respond to mechanical and electrical faults quickly to keep downtime to a minimum. Proactive Problem Solving: Spot potential issues before they escalate and deliver practical, effective fixes. Preventive Maintenance: Execute the PM schedule and follow issues through to completion, sharing key learnings with the wider team. Expert Knowledge: Get to know all areas of the factory to become the site's "go-to" technical expert. 2. Production & Operational Excellence Technical Operation: Lead the operation of production lines to achieve weekly targets and engineering KPIs. Service-Led Mindset: Work closely with production teams to understand their needs and deliver great service. Asset Management: Manage the site asset register and spare parts inventory, liaising with suppliers for critical orders. Growth & Sustainability: Support the commissioning of new equipment and help reduce waste to support our environmental responsibility. 3. Quality, Safety & Leadership Standards Guardian: Ensure all work meets quality standards, including CCPs, HACCP, SOPs, core procedures and customer specifications. Compliance: Maintain our gold-standard BRC rating by following strict Health & Safety protocols. Team Support: Train team members on machine safety and operation and assist the Plant Manager with daily orders or paperwork when required. What You Bring to the Table Technical Foundation: Ideally, you have mechanical and electrical experience, with the ability to interpret machine manuals. Decision Making: A balanced approach to engineeringknowing how to fix things right while respecting production deadlines, support management with key decision making with respect to new technology and continuous improvement. The Food Factor: Previous experience in a food industry (BRC) environment is highly desirable. Agility: You thrive in a small, fast-paced team and are happy to rotate into production tasks to ensure the team succeeds. Why Join Good4U?
