An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancashire County Council as an Adult Social Care lawyer to work within a growing legal team alongside experienced legal professionals. The adult social care team operates in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a wide range of adult social care law cases, including matters relating to the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983.
Within this role you will be predominantly expected to advise internal clients in relation to all aspects of Adult Social Care, with a focus on Court of Protection work as well as ancillary matters such as ordinary residence; responsibilities under the Care Act 2014; funding disputes and Mental Health Act 1983 queries. An ability to correspond and effectively communicate with various stakeholders including other local authorities, health professionals, and counsel is vital, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in working within this area of law, either on behalf of local authorities or in private practice.
We are seeking an individual that can demonstrate a strong work ethic, a professional attitude, and an ability to work both under pressure and with limited supervision, as well as having a desire to work in local authority.
Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.
