Head of Facilities - Strategic Leadership Across the Group

We're seeking a Head of Facilities to provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all facilities activities within our Group. This is a pivotal role where you'll ensure our buildings are safe, efficient, sustainable, and future-ready - all while leading a dedicated team and driving continuous improvement.
🌟 What You'll Be Doing:
Lead all facilities operations in line with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, security, etc.).
Ensure all sites meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
Champion sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and costs.
Manage relocations, refurbishments, and space planning projects.
Negotiate and manage service contracts for cleaning, security, waste, and more.
Supervise contractors and vendors, ensuring quality and compliance.
Conduct regular inspections and respond to emergencies as needed.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Facilities Team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Manage departmental budgets and ensure ethical, lawful operations.
Keep the Chief Executive informed with timely, relevant updates on facilities matters.🎯 What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths - Grade C or above
Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, or related field
IWFM membership or equivalent professional certification
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
Technical certifications (e.g., Legionella Control, Fire Safety)
Experience:
Proven leadership in facilities management across multiple sites
Strong knowledge of UK statutory building compliance
Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
