Job Details
St Andrew's C of E Primary School is looking for a positive, enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant / Mid-day Meals Supervisor to join a team committed to developing the whole child. Experience of working in Early Years, either in a school or nursery, is desirable, but not essential.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning and care for children in the Early Years (Reception / Pre-School). Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
* Assisting in planning, preparing and delivering engaging, differentiated activities in line with the EYFS framework
* Supporting children's learning through scaffolding, guided play, group work, and one-to-one interventions
* Monitoring children's progress, observing, recording, and assisting in assessments
* Supporting the personal, social, emotional, physical development of children
* Promoting positive behaviour and a caring, respectful classroom environment
* Working with pupils with additional needs (SEND) to ensure inclusion
* Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to plan and review interventions
* Helping maintain an organised, stimulating, safe learning environment
* Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Salary:
Learning Support Assistant - WS Grade 3 point 3 £19, £24,796 pro rata)
Midday Meals Supervisor - WS Grade 2 point 2 £2, £24,413 pro rata)
Hours:
Learning Support Assistant - 8.30am to 12pm and 1.15pm to 3.30pm hrs)
Midday Meals Supervisor to 12.45pm (3.75 hrs)
Term Time Only
What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to:
* Have experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS setting
* Preferably holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare / Education) — or is working towards one.
* Have a minimum qualification of Grade C GCSE for Maths and English, or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 desirable)
* Demonstrates warm, caring interpersonal skills and a genuine love of working with young children
* Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, parents and staff
* Can adapt to individual children's needs and use differentiated approaches
* Is proactive, flexible, reliable and a good team player
* Shares and upholds Christian values and is willing to contribute positively to our school ethos
* Is committed to ongoing professional development
