We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Brent Children's and Young People's Occupational Therapy Team. We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to work part time.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children and developing new skills.
Your role will be to provide assessment, advice, and treatment to children with a range of needs including coordination, developmental, physical functional, sensory and sensory motor needs either in 1:1 input, groups or integrated MDT groups. The role will include work within a local clinic, schools and supporting families across Brent.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Brent Community Services and with outside services to deliver occupational therapy advice and treatment meeting the needs of children and young people across Brent including delivering EHCP treatment in line with The Children's Act 2014.
You will have had experience of working with children in the community and/or educational settings or similar.
You should be able to evidence excellent team working and communication skills and have a passion for management and leadership.
You will receive support from a line manager and receive in house training as part of the role. There is a strong ethos of clinical support and supervision within the team.
This role will develop your knowledge and skills working with children with communication difficulties and is valuable experience for anyone wishing to develop their career in this area.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent Diploma/Qualification in OT
* Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
Desirable
* Expertise in the specialist field of paediatrics incorporating a wide range of theory and evidence-based practise.
* Member of professional body; RCOT
* Attendance at workshops / seminars in paediatric OT
* An up-to-date professional portfolio demonstrating reflective learning especially within the neurological field

* Experience of working with people with a wide range of permanent disabilities and short-term illness
* Experience in working with clients with neurological impairment ? Experience working with tertiary or voluntary community-based services
