The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated trained individual to join our Estates Team as a Joiner. This rare opportunity offers an individual the experience of working within a large healthcare estate.
On a day to day basis, you typically will:
* Carry out minor and general joinery installation work, door locks, fire seals, fire doors, window checks etc...
* Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to key trade, with minimal supervision as instructed by supervisors and completion of jobs on Micad via PDAs
* Undertake routine maintenance (PPM)
* Liaise with key stakeholders with regards to building maintenance and new minor work schemes
The successful candidate will be based at York but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites when required. You will be part of a team working day shift Monday to Friday, but also covering when necessary across other Trust sites. You must therefore be flexible regarding working hours and undertake appropriate training as part of the role.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
* Undertake work appropriate to your core skill to an above base level, working in an environment where work is managed rather than supervised.
* Work across all trades as necessary, actively learning new skills and participating in training to improve efficiency and flexibility.
* Understand the function of all plant, equipment, mechanical and electrical services to enable competent judgment impacting service delivery.
* Carry out repairs and maintain complex locking systems to ensure security of property and possessions.
* Investigate and repair complex structural faults across various building types, demonstrating problem-solving skills to maintain trust operations.
* Work cooperatively with electrical, mechanical, and building management teams, showing motivation, reliability, resilience, enthusiasm, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
* Recognised CITB, EIBT, or C&G apprenticeship (or equivalent)
* Current driving license with category B
* No more than 12 points within 3 years (or 6 points within 2 years for new drivers)
Experience
* Building infrastructure experience
* Mechanical plant maintenance and fault finding
